Connected

to the internet is an interesting experience, one's window to the world as the saying goes. The question is though what sort of window am I looking; 'cause when I look through a window it appears the speed of light ensures things arrive 'pretty dam quick'.

With the internet, 'quick' is a very virtual term - virtual or virtual? Virtually it means this is what is promised, no that is too strong a word let's say this is what is advertised as a connection speed and I say “pot luck as to what you get” bit like life, really.

An ever present reality is this morning, around 6 o'clock on a Monday morning I imagine my local server- nice word that 'server' I imagine it has something to do with service. *Yes, I know you get what you pay for, strangely enough to me it has every appearance that the service offered, appears to have an almost uncanny similar price with other companies offering a similar service and at a price above that offered to our German counterparts.* So this morning the local internet highways at 6 o'clock could be considered as quite quiet, don't you think.

Well that's what I thought, to be quickly disillusioned by this appearing on the screen “..est maintenant connecté Vitesse 9.6 kbits”. I have not finished the last sentence with an explication mark 'cause it has happened often enough to make the explication keyboard key a little tired and here we go again at 08.03 “..est maintenant connecté Vitesse 9.6 kbits”. Evidently this morning the internet highway is suffering from a buchon, so you can imagine I said -

“that takes the bouchon”.

Have you had your own particular 'buchon' this morning? Maybe your sitting 'in' one at the moment, which visually pedantic seems rather a strange picture; there again sitting 'on' looks, what? Indelicate.

Were you waiting for one? well here is a tercet 8-5-3 for you ; monday getting stuck into life / that takes the bouchon / quite quiet.

So, as they say in Mac country “have a nice day”, Pépin
